Default Quest system idea.

I've just had a rather different idea for a quest system.

Let players create quests for other players using a special NPC in every outpost or town.
Let's say i wanted to give someone a quest....

I would go to any of the quest NPC's and select the settings for it. I would select from a list a particular quest item, i would select the destination NPC and i would select the quest reward too.
The reward would just be XP, a small amount of gold or even something original like a salvage kit or a key.

This quest would not be my own task, but i would give it to a player who is willing to take on a quest. (We may even start seeing people advertising for a quest.)
Making a quest for somebody would be free and unlimited.
The maker of the quest would receive some sort of reward in return but only if that quest was completed by the receiver.

So, when i give that quest to somebody, i would be handing over a quest item/items and a quest order. This order would be like an unopened letter for the other player.
To open it, he would have to identify it to "read it", it is then placed in his quest log and the letter is "destroyed".

That player then goes away to do the quest, he may do it the week after or he may never do it.
I'm sure there would be many bored people willing to take on quests all day long and equally many who would love to make quests for others...perhaps even swap quests between friends.

I don't know how good you guys at Anet are, but i'd love to see this sort of thing. I 'd also like to see a scroll down option for making people do the quest without map travelling...so we can have fun by challenging friends to fight through nasty areas to complete the quest. (The notion of people making "easy" quests for friends to farm XP/rewards might be difficult to work around but i'm sure you can cover that somehow if you like this idea )

It would also be good if we could have several quest rendezvous points instead of going from A to B.

So, in general...good idea or rotten apples?

EDIT - Rather than just the usual fedex quests, there could be "kill X monster" types too. Just like the current quests.

In an mmorpg with open pvp I like the idea of players setting bounties on playerkillers that killed them, for revenge :P

On topic tho, its a neat idea. However, if we ever get a procedural quest engine (which is what your idea requires to function) then I'd rather have automatically generated quests than player generated ones.

Maybe Guild-assigned quests, that report to the guild whether you've succeeded or not, and then the guild rewards you from its own pockets?

That would solve the "farming" problem...
